A Dallas ticket buyer who was charged $1,300 after being told the zoo’s ticket price was $50 a pop is suing the zoo.
Deelynn Bowers, who lives in New Jersey, was charged last week by a ticket agent in New York.
The ticket was purchased on March 3, but she told The Associated Press she didn’t have a valid ID when she got her ticket.
She told the AP she wanted to make sure her tickets were valid because she was in New Brunswick and had not yet received her tickets, but that she was charged the ticket price for her visit.
She said she contacted the zoo and the ticket agent, but got no response.
Her complaint was filed Friday in a federal court in New Orleans.
“I don’t know why this happened.
I really don’t.
I just wanted to buy tickets,” she said.
Bowers is seeking a jury trial.
She said she has spent more than $3,000 trying to get her tickets.
