SANTA CLARA, Calif.
— National Zoo President Scott F. Harris said Saturday that he is “very proud” of the zoo’s 25 years.
“We have been able to make some wonderful and significant progress, both at the zoo and in our community, in helping to transform the lives of millions of Americans,” Harris said.
The zoo is one of several in the country to be named for American Presidents, and the San Francisco Zoo has earned the title of nation’s best zoo in the past two years.
The San Diego Zoo is among the five top in the nation, and is also the oldest.
